From Europe to Australia: New Beginnings & Affiliate Marketing Insights

Reflections on a Relocation, Faceless YouTube Channels, and Affiliate Wins

This past week has been nothing short of monumental for my family and me—we’ve officially relocated back to Australia after nearly 8 years in Europe! From the bustling streets of London to the slower pace of Cologne, it’s been an incredible journey, and I’m excited to start this new chapter.

There’s so much I’ve learned along the way, and I shared some of those insights in a recent LinkedIn post. If you want to read more about the lessons I’ll carry with me, check out the full post here.

šŸ What You Can Learn from My Affiliate Marketing Results
Affiliate Marketing Results from My Faceless YouTube Channel

It’s normal to expect slow YouTube growth, but it’s sometimes important to take a step back and rethink what success actually is. For example, I had a small victory this week: I converted a new customer to Syllaby.

Here’s the key takeaway for you:

  • 200 views might not seem much, but think of it as 200 people in a room watching your content. šŸ‘€ That’s a lot of eyeballs and a lot of attention!

  • Slow growth doesn’t mean you’re not making progress—patience is essential.

  • It only takes one viewer to make a sale, and in this case, that’s another $7.50 in the bank (every month!).

Or just sign up to the Syllaby affiliate program and start promoting the tool. https://syllaby.firstpromoter.com/

šŸ What You Can Do to Boost Your LinkedIn Presence
LinkedIn’s Best Practices for Writing Engaging Posts

LinkedIn just dropped some useful tips to help your posts stand out.

Here are the key takeaways:

  • Posting twice a week = up to 5x more profile views.

  • Focus on the first two lines—make them punchy!

    • Try a surprising statistic, a bold statement, or a personal story. (TIP: Use TypeGrow to see how your post will appear before the ā€œread moreā€ option)

    • Download my ā€œ100 Killer Opening Hooksā€ and add them to ChatGPT to instantly improve your social posts.

  • Engage regularly—comment, react, reshare, and interact with other posts.

Ultimately, it’s what we all would assume — i.e. consistency and engagement are key to boosting your LinkedIn presence.

šŸ What You Should Think About When It Comes to Faceless YouTube Channels
So Many People HATE Faceless YouTube Channels—Here’s What I Think

Many people dislike faceless YouTube channels (in particular, AI generated ones), but here’s why it doesn’t matter:

  • The audience cares more about good content than whether they see a creator’s face.

  • Faceless channels are successful. Heck! How is it that my channel racked up over 1.6K subs in less than 3 months? I’d say that’s successful.

  • With privacy concerns like doxxing and simply the fear of being on camera, many creators prefer to stay anonymous. This is a classic use case for why Syllaby is such a good tool.

If you're considering a faceless channel, go for it! Content is what matters most, not the face behind it.

šŸ What You Should Know About Jaguar’s Rebrand
Side step: something that got me thinking this week…

I published a post on LinkedIn this week about Jaguar’s new rebrand and why critiquing ads isn’t as black-and-white as it seems.

Here’s what I’ve been thinking:

  • Ads don’t need to appeal to everyone: Jaguar’s ad is targeting a specific demographic, and that’s perfectly fine. Not every ad has to please everyone.

  • Emotion drives attention: Whether you love or hate it, the ad sparks a reaction, and that’s often better than indifference.

  • Does it move the needle?: The real question is whether the ad achieves its objective. Is it driving sales, engagement, and brand awareness? From what I’ve seen, it’s definitely working.

Check out the full post here and share your thoughts on whether ads should aim to please everyone or just their niche.

That’s it for this week’s edition. Now over to you.
